Phil co-wrote with his sister Suzie Scragg, and recorded and produced this album.
Phil also performs with David Migden and the Twisted Roots, who are an exciting electric five piece, performing unique original material in a genre-busting crossover of rock, blues and twisted American roots. Gigs across London and the Southeast followed at venues such as The Jazz Cafe, Dean Street Pizza Express, Ronnie Scott’s, the Borderline, and the American Embassy.
‘Killing It’, the band’s second album was released in August 2012 to an amazing critical reception. Phil has received many accolades for his mixing and production ideas on the album. The band’s reputation has been growing with radio play across the UK, Europe and the US. They appeared at the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in Canada in Sept 2013. David Migden has also been nominated in the British Blues Awards 2013 for best singer and best original song (‘Shel’).
The band have received two more awards from Blues Matters magazine, Best Band and Best Newcomers’. In April 2014 they represented the UK at The European Blues Challenge in Riga, Latvia where they came third.
The band released their third album ‘Animal & Man’ in March 2014
Phil played bass on Robert Plant’s 1988 multi platinum album ‘Now and Zen’
Phil also plays in the ‘Big Easy Band with many of the other MusicStation tutors.

Phil currently plays bass for Matt Berry and the Maypoles. Matt Berry is actor/ comedian who has starred in shows such as the ‘Mighty Boosh’, ‘Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place’, and ‘The IT Crowd’. Phil has toured with Matt Berry to support the new albums ‘Kill The Wolf’ (Acid Jazz 2013), (played bass on) ‘Matt Berry & the Maypoles Live’ and ‘The Small Hours’.‘
Phil is also active as a producer and writer. He also specialises in teaching music technology. This is a remix Phil did of ‘Blues’ by David Migden and the Dirty Words.
